Fatal collision- A339 Newbury
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 47-year-old man died in hospital after a collision on the A339 on Saturday (24/01).
At around 6.40pm a blue Vauxhall Astra VXR was travelling northbound along the A339 between the Sainsbury’s roundabout and the Robin Hood Roundabout when it hit a pedestrian.
The 47-year-old man was taken to the JR2 hospital with serious injuries, which he subsequently died from in the early hours of Sunday (25/01).
The 25-year-old man who was driving the blue Astra was arrested and bailed pending further enquiries. He will return to Newbury police station on Saturday 7 March.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle prior to the collision.
