A number of new appointments are to be made to West Berkshire Council's Executive.
Councillor David Betts, Ward Member for Purley on Thames, will join the Executive for the first time as the Portfolio Holder for Highways and Transport. David has a wealth of experience from his long professional career working for Shell UK.Following his successful year as Chairman of the Council, Councillor Keith Chopping will become Portfolio Holder for Finance. This is an especially important role as West Berkshire continues to deal with the effects of the economic recession and Keith's experience as a successful businessman is likely to prove especially appropriate.
Councillor Geoff Findlay will take over as Chairman of the Council, while Councillor Marcus Franks becomes Portfolio Holder for Environment and Public Protection.
Councillor Graham Jones, Leader of West Berkshire Council said: "I believe these changes reflect the strength and depth of experience that we have at West Berkshire Council and I am sure they are the right team to move forward with a busy programme of work for the coming year."
The changes are subject to approval at the Full Council meeting to be held on 12th May.
