Witness appeal following robbery in Newbury

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a robbery near to the St Johns roundabout in Newbury on Saturday (3/7).
Some time between 9.30pm and 9.50pm, a 20-year-old man was walking down an alleyway near to the roundabout in the direction of Tescos when he was pushed by two men and a woman.
The offenders stole his phone and house keys and he sustained scratches and bruising to his face during the robbery.
One of the offenders is a white man, in his late teens with short hair which was gelled. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.


The second is a white man, in his late teens with black hair wearing a blue T-shirt with lines on and jeans and he was carrying a black bag.
The third was a white woman in her late teens with dark hair. She was wearing a black T-shirt and black jumper and was pushing a pushchair.
Det Con John Yallop from Newbury police station said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of this incident.”

A 22-year-old woman from Newbury and a 19-year-old man from Newbury have been arrested on suspicion of robbery; a 17-year-old girl from Newbury has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and robbery. All three have been bailed to return to Newbury police station tomorrow (8/7).
