B4009, Hermitage to close for resurfacing!

Road Closure B4009, Hermitage - 16th to 20th February 2009 (Half term week)

REASON FOR CLOSURE: Resurfacing work. The above closure has been requested as it is not possible to keep the road open in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual to undertake the work safely.

The alternative route for vehicles affected is via Aldworth Road at The Four Points public house, School Road, Compton High Street, Ilsley Road, Cow Lane, Broad Street, East Ilsley High street, A34 to M4 junction 13 and Priors Court Road or by this route reversed.

This route is not suitable for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes or 13ft 6in (4.1m) high. Such vehicles are advised to find their own diversion via the A34 or other major routes.  For local deliveries, drivers should call the Council's Streetcare service on (01635) 519080.

The closure has been requested by West Berkshire Council.
