As you will be aware Newbury is finally getting a cinema(again) after the cinema in parkway shut down in the 90's.
After many years in the planning and questions about wether Newbury would once get a cinema again, work began at the end of January 2008 and the cinema should be open late 2009
Works beagn in January 2008 to move sewage, water & gas mains from the site. Also in this time was a dig by 'Oxford archaeology'. In September 2008 John Sisk & sons moved onto the site clearing the old Domino's, Timpsons,sub-station & the toilets from under the ramp, they also removed the canopy covering the walkaway into the centre. They built a new sub-station & leveled out the site. In November began the best part with the begining of the steel framework going-up. In December almost half of the steel framwork was up and shoulde be finsished by spring/summer 2008.
