Newbury Berkshire: Dangerous driving - Newbury

Dangerous driving - Newbury

Police want to trace the driver of a silver Ford Fiesta Zetec ‘S’ model following an incident in Newbury on Friday (20/2).

At 9.45pm a 19-year-old Thatcham was driving a gold Fiat Punto GT along Market Street, Newbury, when he was pursued by two men in the Fiesta onto Bartholomew Street.

They briefly stopped outside Pro Bike before continuing the pursuit along St John’s Road and Andover Road. They overtook the victim and blocked the road before driving head-on, on the wrong side of the road, towards the victim’s car. The pursuit then continued up Bartlemy Road, onto Montgomery Road, Valley Road and Elizabeth Avenue before it ended, and the car made off.

PC Paul South, of Newbury police said: “I need to trace the driver, or owner, of the Ford Fiesta. It is a Zetec ‘S’ model with body-coloured bumpers, silver alloys and a small rear spoiler. It is believed to be a ‘T’ registration.

“I would like to hear from anyone who may be able to help identify the driver or passenger of this vehicle, or who may have witnessed the vehicle driving erratically.”

PC South can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
